Create then destroy, create then destroy, create then destroy, create then destroy, create then destroy, on and on until there is nothing.

"After watching Daisies (1966), I was amazed by the erratic but eye-catching imagery and sounds that summed up my scattered feelings over the past couple of years.  The film is filled with contradicting ideas ; the director Vera Chytilova talks about their creativity and destructiveness as being "two sides of the same coin".   Every scene is textural and beautifully colored, but the most captivating part is the protagonist's unpredictable energy.  They create then destroy, create then destroy, create then destroy, create then destroy, create then destroy, on and on until there is nothing.  Is it liberation that comes after destruction or the collapsing of the self?" Mel Carter

Between March 16-27 Mel Carter constructed at Andralamusya a small space to work within, and changing the space daily through activities.  Order, mess, and destruction within the  external space helped guide her  internal shifts and self-definition."
